Content Marketing an inside look from our Agency

Content Marketing, to us, is a discovery and storytelling journey. It is about creating company stories and weaving those into the messages we deliver to our customers - where we came from, the challenges we have overcome and where we are heading - and then using everything that we have learned from them to help others. Through content marketing, we are able to say, this is who we are. This is how we fit with your business. Would you like to work with us?

Why we recommend it

Just like us, each company has their own brand stories. These stories are important because customers like to buy from people they know. Although you may not be able to shake the hand of every person who walks through your door, they can still get to know you by the stories you tell. You are able to help your clients before, during and after the sale is made by creating and sharing content that is valuable to them.

The challenges we faced

For most startups, the challenge of having to access the right resources to fulfill the projects that we need to undertake is a common denominator. Anyone who has been around startups has stories about instances where they have used unconventional methods to accomplish a task. We are no stranger to this, that is why in our own content marketing journey and in how we work with our clients, resourcefulness is always in our arsenal. This means making use of resources well, and exercising our creative muscles to continually learn new skills.

They say time flies when you’re having fun. This is true at our business. Time also swiftly flies by for us when we are completing our to-do list (or when our to-do list is writing itself). To overcome the time factor we employed collaboration and delegation.

Talent pool

You can’t be everything to everybody and good ideas are not exclusive to everyone. To produce our best content we team up with writers, editors, designers and other creatives. Cebu is steadily becoming a creative hub and we take advantage of this to provide high quality output at very competitive prices.

Content Marketing is a team effort

Content Marketing, as we are continuously discovering, is a monster of a task. This is why if you are a business looking to use content marketing to improve your relationships with your customer base and increase your pipeline, we recommend that you involve your team in the process.

You can involve your team in your content marketing process too:

  1. Generate new content ideas.
  2. Become the source of content by creating stories based on our own interactions with our customers and audience.
  3. Become the content by participating in videos, podcasts, and other media.
  4. Provid feedback. Our content is our best output because we consult our team to know what needs to be improved.
  5. Actively participating with audience engagement.

Content Marketing is one of our most challenging but massively rewarding endeavors. We have encountered so many challenges as a team and have worked on overcoming them together. Here are some of the milestones that we would like to celebrate and share with you.

Grown our following on Twitter and Linkedin

Based on engagement and results, we were able to identify Twitter and Linkedin as two of our most essential channels for creating and sharing content. It is important for us as a business to identify where our customers want to engage with us. Over the last year, we have seen tremendous growth in following and more importantly, engagement on Twitter and Linkedin.

Launched our daily blog - August 2015

We started with a weekly blog. From the very first outlines and drafts to cover and inner image designs, developing a weekly blog is hard work. We learned so much in the process of creating and implementing what we blog about in our own business and with the people we work with that naturally, this became material for more content. We decided that 2015 would be the year that we launch our daily blog, while being aware that this was an ambitious projection, it was achievable. After months of planning and preparation, we proud to announced this past month we launched our daily blog and are now learning more new things that we will be sharing with you in the coming posts.

Expanded to multimedia content

Our team is growing. For us, this means increasing the amount and variety of talent that we have to produce helpful content. Aside from written content we have developed characters to represent the voice and persona of each daily blog.

We have released our explainer video to showcase our five departments: Sales, Social Media and Content Marketing, Support, Admin, and Web.

Along with our daily blog, we released our weekly cartoon that highlights the realities of small businesses.

Traditional Marketing vs. Content Marketing

We are dedicated to finding the right types of content that best delivers the message. Cebu and Sydney has a wealth of talent to make this all possible.

Content Marketing Lessons we have learned (that you can use too!)

Set a goal. This is where it begins. What is your vision for your company? What milestones do you want to achieve? Where do you want to end up? These are just some of the questions whose answers have led us to become the company that we are now.

Consistent content. We know firsthand that to publish content consistently is hard work. It takes strategy, extensive planning, trials and errors, and resources. We were able to do it by exploring what we can do with what we had to work with, learning new things, discovering talent and finding ways to be consistent.

Don’t be limited to one form of content. There are many forms of content available to you. Expanding the range of content that you produce helps you find different ways to best deliver your message.

Get others involved. You can have untapped talents within your team that you are not using. Encourage your team to get involved in every way that they can.
